PAIR OF FIGURAL CANDLESTICKS

A pair of figural candlesticks in Empire form; the shaft is formed by a sculpture of a winged female figure in antiquising dress, standing on a globe and bearing 5 arms with volute décor grouped around a central (sixth) arm, bell-shaped candle holders with drip pans are decorated with a relief leaf moulding, as is the cylindrical base on an octagonal plinth. Bronze, partially black-patinated, H. 74 cm. Condition B. Provenance: from the collection of PhDr. Miroslav Boček (1915–2005).
