Format 8°, 19.5 x 12.5 cm, 172 pp. Title page printed in black. Colour reproductions of Gauguin`s watercolours tipped in. Firm full-leather binding with blind-stamped decoration, colour inlay, and gilt top edge, executed by Jindřich Svoboda, marked with a blind stamp "JS" on the back pastedown. Cardboard slipcase numbered "121". The original wrapper is bound in at the end of the book; two newspaper clippings about the book are also enclosed. Published by Rudolf Škeřík a spol. in the winter of 1939 in Prague as vol. 121 of the Symposion series. Besides the edition on antique paper, 20 copies were printed on English Albans paper, numbered I-XX, and 200 copies on domestic simili-Japan paper, numbered 1-200. This copy bears no. "XIV". Front pastedown with the bookplate "PH.MR. M. Helcelet.". Very good condition, only a minor stain on the spine and slightly faded slipcase.
