Germany, 2nd third of the 18th century
Bartholomeo Gavanto (1569-1638): THESAURUS SACRORUM RITUUM. Cologne 1734. Book format 8°, in Latin. Parchment binding with blind stamp decorations and two metal buckles. Red and black text on the title page. Parts of the book: Tomus Primus – 258 pages and index (page 256 mistaken for page 156), Tomus Secundus – 287 pages and index, Manuale Episcoporum Pars Prima – 236 pages, Manuale Episcoporum Pars Secunda – 94 pages. On page 90 there is a copperplate illustration. Justinian I (482-565): CORPUS IURIS CIVILIS ROMANI. Leipzig 1740. Book format 2°, 1028 + 792 p. + index, in Latin. Parchment decoration with blind stamp decoration, spine with five raised bands, red edge. Frontispiece with a copperplate "Carolus VI. Romanorum Imperator semper Augustus", signed J. M. Bernigeroth. On page 655 there is torn piece of the page, otherwise in an excellent condition. Title page with red written name "W. F. Hofmann". Issued by Johannes Fridericus Gleditsch. Andreas Fabricius (1528-1577): UNIVERSALIS CATECHISMUS ROMANUS. Augsburg 1756. Book format 8°, 762 p. + index, lat. Hard parchment binding with blind stamp decorations, 2 metal buckles, spine with 5 raised bands, excellent condition. Frontispiece with handwritten text in Latin, title page in red and black, red edge. Issued by Matthäus Rieger.
